Why Aurtism Was Created

Aurtism began in 2022, the year my oldest daughter was diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum. From the moment she could hold a crayon, she filled our home with color, shapes, and worlds only she could imagine. I realized early on that her artistic abilities weren’t just a hobby; they were a lifeline, a way of expressing herself, grounding herself, and growing in confidence. But I also saw how limited the resources were for children like her who rely on creativity as part of their development. I created this nonprofit to make sure that no child on the spectrum with an artistic spark is left without the tools to explore it. Every pencil, every sketchpad, every splash of paint we provide is meant to support their growth, their joy, and their voice.

Aurtism was born from the belief that every child on the autism spectrum deserves a creative outlet; a safe space to express, explore, and be celebrated. Our nonprofit combines art and awareness, using original illustrations by children with autism to create apparel, stationery, and home goods that tell their stories.

Each design begins with imagination, drawn by the children themselves and transforms into wearable art that supports inclusion, self-expression, and access to art supplies for autistic youth.

We believe creativity bridges worlds. By sharing these designs, we’re building a community that values neurodiversity, self-expression, and purpose-driven creativity.
